About Me
I decided to write a blog to share some of my thoughts, discoveries and useful bits of information with you all. This will mostly be about the topics I’m interested in and enjoy playing with, such as Microsoft operating systems, iPod’s/iPhones, Google and the internet. I’m not a fan-boy of any particular technologies, but nor do I loathe any either.
Much of this useful information comes from other sources, and I shall of course graciously and unreservedly acknowledge these sources.
As for my own personal experience, I have some 20+ years in the I.T. industry, having worked in Telecomms, Media (TV and Printed), Local Government, Finance, and a little stint in manufacturing. I’ve spent the last 10 years working for a major telecommunications company. Most of this experience has been around I.T. Infrastructure – that’s servers and disks to most of us – everything from laptops and PC’s to very large (and very expensive) heterogeneous clusters with massive disk farms.
Having said all that, this blog is purely my own personal creation and does not (caveat alert!) represent the views of my employer.
I welcome all (constructive) feedback, so if you have any comments, suggestions, or requests then please use the contact page and send me a note.
Thanks,
Derek
